Ron Griggs is a native Oklahoman. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Karen, for over 40-years. Karen is an active partner in his business taking care of the books and paying the bills. Ron and Karen have three beautiful and talented daughters, three fabulous son-in-laws, and nine precious grandchildren all living in the Claremore area. Ron and Karen are devout Christians and attend church on a regular basis.

Ron graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1969 with a degree in Fish Biology. He later attended 2-years of Graduate school at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and 2-years of business school at Rogers State University in Claremore. Ron is a Vietnam era veteran who proudly served his country as a United States Air Force Medic. Ron is a past president of the Rogers County Builders Association and served on the board of directors for 10-years. Ron also currently serves on the building advisory board for Sequoyah Public Schools.
Ron's grandfather was a farmer and carpenter and introduced Ron at an early age to carpentry. At the tender age of 8-years, Ron built his first building, a 4' x 8' "Pigeon Loft" with scrap wood, a hammer, used nails, and a handsaw. In June of 1975 Ron began his building career by starting Griggs Construction and began framing houses. Although highly educated in the scientific field, Ron's passion for carpentry won out over his love of Science. A year later he expanded into trimming houses and building cabinets. In 1979 Ron build his first complete house and has been building houses and commercial buildings ever since.

The motto of Griggs Construction is "Built with Pride and Craftsmanship" and "We mean every word of it," says Ron. "We follow the golden rule when building. I want my clients and home buyers treated the way that I would want my family members treated."

Although Ron does not physically work on his homes any longer, he has a crew of extremely loyal subcontractors who are held to very rigid standards and whom are enormously proud of their work and craftsmanship. Some of Ron's subcontractors work exclusive for him and are the "cream of the crop."

"All of our homes, commercial buildings, and spec homes are of the highest quality, and the relationship with clients and buyers is fantastic." Ron's clients become his friends and he remains attentive to their needs even after the warranty expires. "We are proud of our reputation," says Ron, which is evident, because, the majority of his business is a result of referrals from satisfied customers. We've actually built several homes for 2 and 3 generations within the same family, grandparents, parents, and their children.

Today, Ron and Karen live on a small farm North of Claremore where they raise horses and cattle. They both remain dedicated to the building business, and give thanks to their family, all past and present clients, subcontractors, and most importantly, the good Lord, for the tremendous success they have experienced in business and life.
